There are a great many things on Earth that your average man on the street is blissfully ignorant of. Sullivan Henry Thornton Grey (born April 2nd, 1977) is not one of the people that have been kept in the dark. A senior agent for Department C4 (also known as the Forge), he specialises in retrievals - which is to say, his job is to investigate supernatural, paranormal, and extraterrestrial threats, and to bring home anything with the potential to be developed into weapons and technology for the military.
Sullivan does not have a reputation as a very delicate man. He is more of a sledgehammer than a scalpel, prone to a heavy hand and lack of subtly. That being said, he always gets the job done, even if there is a mess to clean up afterwards - and there often is some kind of mess. The kind of things he finds himself tracking down are rarely simple, and they almost never give up without a fight.
He is not a nice man and has no patience for incompetence. If he thinks that somebody is going to make him fail at any task, then he would much rather cut them off as soon as possible than drag them along on the slight chance that he may be wrong. Despite this, Sullivan is exceedingly loyal to his career. For him to betray the Forge is unquestionable; it's only everybody else that is at risk of betrayal.
Appearance
Sullivan is a tall, strong man with greying ginger hair and blue eyes. He has a beard that is neatly trimmed in a horseshoe shape, sideburns, and a large scar that runs across his lip and up the left side of his face. The scar lifts his lip slightly, giving him the appearance of a permanent sneer. Sullivan speaks with a mild Devonshire (West Country) accent.
He is a physically imposing man. Not only is he 6'5" in height, but he is also clearly well-built. Keeping in shape is required for Sullivan's job, which can be incredibly active at times. Being able to run an extra mile or lift something heavy could be the difference between life and death in his line of work.
Family
Ever since the early days, the Grey family have been a part of the Forge's history. Though they did not found the organisation, Sullivan's great grandfather, Thornton Grey, joined the Forge early on. His questionable stance on morals allowed him to quickly rise in the ranks and, when he had a son, it only seemed fitting to him that he should train the boy up to follow in his footsteps. Since then, the Greys have continued to be an active part of the Forge's ranks. Sullivan was no exception to this. His father practically running the day to day organisation of the Forge, he had been raised knowing that there was a job for him there.
Henry and Sophia Grey
Sullivan's parents. He has a good relationship with both of them. Sullivan looks up to his father, Henry, and wants to make him proud. Luckily, his father is proud of him. Sullivan may not be the perfect son, but he is good enough. His mother is also proud of him. She claims that she could never not love him, though Sullivan doubts that would be the case if she knew the details of the horrific things he had done in the name of his work. He still sees both his parents regularly - his father in the office, and his mother whenever he has time to accept her invitations to come over for dinner.
Evie Webb
Sullivan's daughter, born in 2017 after a one night stand with a former colleague (Holly Webb). He has never met the child. Her mother offered to allow him a relationship with her when he was first born but, after Sullivan ignored all her messages, she quickly learnt that he was not interested. Despite this, he does keep a copy of the only photograph of her that he was sent.
The Forge
Main article: The Forge
The Forge (officially known as Department C4) is a covert British military intelligence organisation specialising in researching ways of turning the paranormal and extraterrestrial into weapons. Founded in the 1890s, it was originally located underneath and area covering the moors and an abandoned asylum in Dartmoor (Forge Alpha Facility). In 2008, alien influences detonating the self-destruct program in the base killed the majority of staff and forced the Forge to move to their secondary base in London (Forge Beta Facility).
Early Life
Born in Dartmoor, Devonshire, Sullivan spent his childhood growing up with free range of the moors. He used to spend a lot of time exploring them, sometimes alone, sometimes with other boys from the village he grew up in.
One of his favourite activities as a child was building snares to trap rabbits and other small animals with. He also enjoyed hare coursing. One of the boys in the village had a pair of lurchers that they would use to do this and they would spend many afternoons out on the moors seeing what they could catch. When Sullivan was a bit older, the same boy would also bring along his shotgun and they would have fun shooting birds.
Sullivan's father made it clear to him from an early age that he was expected to follow in his footsteps and join the Forge, which had been the career path for the Greys for multiple generations. When he was younger, Sullivan resented this in a fashion typical of teenage rebellion. However, when he found out what they actually did there, he was more than happy to sign up. A chance to shoot aliens and other monsters? Yeah, that sounded like a pretty great job to him.
Career
Sullivan joined the Forge as soon as he finished university in the early 2000s. He quickly showed a lot of potential and like many of his family before him, a lack of morals and a high drive for success pushed him to rise quickly through the ranks. If he had wanted to, he could have easily followed in his father's footsteps and moved into a safe role behind a desk. That just wasn't Sullivan, though. While he knows that he'll probably be forced into such a role eventually - his father is very insistent on that point - for now, he is happy where he is, which is working a field agent specialising in retrieving specimens and technology for research.
Some missions that Sullivan has worked on include, but aren't limited to, hunting down a grey alien in the New Forest, retrieving technology from crashed UFOs, and capturing a shapeshifter (a nasty affair which was where he got his scar). He was particularly annoyed about the New Forest mission as, at the same time, some of his colleagues were heading out to Norway to capture a vampire - a creature that he really wants to fight. The Forge has a long and complicated history with vampirism and, because of that, Sullivan has always wanted to kill a one. Unfortunautely for him, he has never been offered the chance.
When Forge Alpha Facility self destructed in 2008, Sullivan was not there. He was on the other side of the world, in America looking into rumours of zombies in the New York City sewer systems (rumours which turned out to be completely true). His father, who had survived because he was in London attending a business meeting, called him to inform him of the bad news. He also informed him that the deaths of the majority of their colleagues meant that he would be becoming the Director of the Forge, and that Sullivan would also be receiving a promotion. Initially, his father wanted him to move to a desk job and oversee agent operations, but Sullivan managed to convince him that he would be more useful remaining an active field agent, where he could retrieve more specimens and technology that would help them rebuild. As such, Sullivan was promoted to Head of Retrievals.
Because of the lack of staff while rebuilding the Forge, Sullivan also had to step up and fill in for other roles. Over the years, he has worked as a hitman, a solider, a spy, and all other sorts of roles for the organisation with varying levels of success. He's carried out orders to play these parts without question, though with a little bit of grumbling whenever it was a job that he deemed to be boring.
Public Image
Sullivan is not a public figure. He sticks to the shadows, keeping his identity obscured and his actions secret. However, no matter what mission he's on, people that interact with him tend not to like him. Sullivan simply does not have a pleasant personality. He's arrogant, blunt, callous, and selfish. Unless it's the only way of getting something he wants, he cares very little about what others think of him.
Personal Life
Sullivan's work is demanding, but he does have a life outside of it. Whenever he has time, he likes to return to Dartmoor, where he still owns a house, and spend some time in the familiar countryside. Just being there, away from life or death scenarios and underground bunkers filled with alien specimens, is relaxing for him.
He doesn't have any particular hobbies, but Sullivan likes a good drink. He also likes to smoke, gamble, and generally have a good time. If the opportunity comes up, he's not against getting into a fight just for the fun of it. There are a couple of underground boxing rings that he occasionally visits, usually doing pretty well in the ring when he decides to join in.
When he's off on a mission, Sullivan usually spends his limited downtime at whatever local bar he can find. Now only can he get a stiff drink there, but it's also a good source of local information.

Main Verse
Sullivan follows the majority of information described on this page.
Aliens Don't Exist
Instead of hunting down extraterrestrial threats, Sullivan's job is creating conspiracy theories in order to cover up military experiments. He stages a few UFO sightings, ghostly encounters, or whatever is needed to camouflage what is really going on, and then turns up to 'investigate', knowing that if anyone tells anybody else about what they say - even if they saw the real experiment - they will sound like a conspiracy theorist and nobody of worth will take note of them. If somebody does take notice, the reality will be so jumbled up with the elements that Sullivan has created that the truth will be indistinguishable from the lies.
The Hunger Games
Sullivan is a victor from District 2. Aside from getting his face sliced open by one of his fellow tributes, he won his Games with relative ease, having trained practically his entire life for them. As an adult, he spends his days training the district's potential tributes and acting as a mentor for the district when the annual Hunger Games occur.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians
A son of Ares, Sullivan isn't a particularly complicated guy. He likes to fight - ideally monsters, but he'll take whatever he can get - and he likes to win. He's not opposed to fighting dirty if he has to. In his mind, honour has no place on the battlefield.
Kingsman
Also known as Bors, Sullivan was originally an officer in the SAS until his father, the previous Bors, was forced to retire from Kingsman due to an injury he received on a mission. After a competitive selection process, Sullivan managed to successfully follow in his father's footsteps and gained the title for himself. He specialises in the dangerous, dirty jobs - the ones which require cold-hearted decisions that can make even the most seasoned Kingsman agent hesitate.
